One of the nation’s most loved and idolized characters of all time will be back on the big screen this week in the latest take on the Superman comics, Man of Steel.
Man of Steel aims to revamp the Superman franchise with a star-studded cast, including Russell Crow as Jor-El, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent.
Directed by Zack Snyder (director of 300) and produced by Christopher Nolan (also producer of The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception) fans have been particularly vocal during the long wait for this film.
Thousands of tweets have mentioned Man of Steel, when we analysed the tonality of these mentions we found that the vast majority were positive, expressing excitement, anticipation and curiosity. There were a few negative mentions however, most of which revolved around the length of the film (143 minutes) which many people feel is a long time to be in a cinema.
Will the movie live up to the hype? If the trailers are anything to go by the answer is yes. The ads have made the Ebuzzing Video Buzz Chart top ten for the last three months, the latest (in association with Nokia) has been viewed over 6.5 million times and liked on Facebook over 270,000 times.
With such positive results it’s no wonder that Man of Steel is tipped to be one of the highest grossing films of 2013. We’re looking forward to seeing if it can live up to our expectations.
